It’s interesting that people still have concerns that they’re going to “look like Barbie” if they have injectable treatments with Botox® or dermal fillers. When these treatments first became used, sadly there was a real overuse of the products and people did get Barbie-fied! Hollywood celebs with frozen brows, unnaturally arched eyebrows, lips puffed up and cheek areas overly taut. Even here in New Zealand, people would come along with a look they were after… Angelina’s lips, Kendall’s arched brow, Rosie’s pout… My take on appearance medicine is not to change the way my clients look, but rather to enhance what they have, or replenish what has been lost with the natural ageing process. Less is more, and on your first treatment with me, I talk at length with you about your concerns and would rather you came back to top up if we decide you need to. Remember, Botox® and Dermal Fillers are not administered in the same treatment, so some clients book two weeks apart. Botox® can take up to two weeks to take effect, so I like to see how that settles before using fillers. Touch base if you’d like to know more!
